Chapter 4: Buying Bikes in the USA

Purchasing used motorcycles in America from abroad.

Damian says; After I purchased a K1600 GT from Virginian John, I now had to work out a way of getting my bike titled, registered and insured in the US.

This was surprisingly difficult, I was contacting DMVs and asking for help from various people I know in America. No one could help me or point me in the right direction. One of The BMW Guys mentioned he knew there was a company somewhere in the US that helped people just like me, to set up the bike so that it’s titled and registered to out of country owners.

This began endless Google searches until I found Visitor.US. I sent them an email about my plans, Matt from Visitor.US contacted me straight away, saying he can get it all done for me. Matt made it very easy via a step-by-step process. The bike was fully transferred to my ownership.
